Well, well, well. Looks who's welcoming new members once again. Yes, it's the Irving Chapter, who just got another three new members. We welcome Deanna (Dee) and Richard (Rooster) Adams, who have transferred from the Metro Chapter to the Irving Chapter. Welcome aboard Deanna and Richard. We hope you like your new flock! We would also like to welcome Guy Nicholson. Guy qualified at Don Carter City View and is brought to us by Jackie Stovall. Welcome Guy! We hope you enjoy your stay with us and hope to see you at all the future tournaments!
We don't want to leave our guests out. We welcome our guest, Gloria Harrison! Hope you had a good time at the April Tournament and will come back again for future tournaments! Better yet, Gloria, we're waiting for you to become a regular buzzard member of the Irving Club! .
Ok, Irving Buzzards let's give it up for April Penick who has lost 100 pounds in 12 months. Let's also give it up for John Stewart who, in the Cowtown Senior league, shot an award winning, strike filled 297-290-223 for an 810 series. Nice bowling John!
The Silent Auction held at our March Tournament was a great success. We raised $314.00. A big thank you goes out to all that brought items to sell and to all those who partook in the purchasing of the items!
May is our Triple Challenge, and as usual, the Chicken Hat is up for grabs. I am sure that Danny would love nothing more than to give up the Chicken Hat. We do NOT want it!! So, come out everyone and join the fun at the Triple Challenge, which will be held Sunday, May 2, 2010. Please note this is the FIRST Sunday of the month as opposed to our normal second Sunday of the month. The tournament will be held at USA Bowl. The Officers Meeting will take place at 12:00 p.m. and the General Meeting will follow at 12:30 p.m. Please note the special Meeting and start time. We don't want anybody to miss this great opportunity to mingle with the other Chapters and win the trophy NOT the Chicken Hat! Let's make our President proud! Besides, she'll kill us if she has to wear the Chicken Hat at the Annual Tournament, which we are hosting! Be there or be square!
Everyone come join the fun at our annual picnic tournament. This year it will be held at Cousins BBQ as we are bowling at City View Lanes. The outing will be immediately following our June tournament. Come schmooze with your fellow buzzards and enjoy some good BBQ while you're at it!!
The deadline for the Annual Tournament is here! Form your teams get your entry forms in! Remember you can bowl on more than one team, but can only bowl Singles and Doubles once. If forming more than one team, make sure that at least two people on your team are different people. Don't forget to pre-order your shirts, if you want one. You'll be entered into a drawing for a $150 American Express Gift Card! Come on guys, let's beat the total teams we had last year, which was 11. If you're in need of a team, let us know. We'll see if we can get you on a team. It would be nice for our whole Chapter, or at least most of it makes a showing as we are the Host Chapter this year! Let's shine! You must have all your entry forms filled out completely and turned in with all monies, including the banquet form and money and the pre-order for shirts with the money. Any questions, give any officer a phone call or send them an email. Go Irving Chapter!!!
