36th Annual Bowling Tournament Rules 2010
United States Bowling Congress (USBC) rules will govern this tournament. All bowlers must have current 2009-
2010 USBC membership verified by their Chapter Secretary. Only Buzzard Club of America members may
participate. All rules will be enforced.
A bowler can bowl only once in Doubles and Singles. If either Doubles or Singles are entered, then both must be
entered. Doubles may be mixed and will be bowled after the Singles event. There will be separate divisions for
men and women in Singles and All Events. A bowler may only compete on a maximum of two teams and the
bowler can receive prize money on more than one team. No more than two bowlers may compete on the same team more than once. Teams shall be composed of two men/two women, three men/one woman, or one man/three
women. Score on the first Team event bowled will count towards the All Events total..
All Events entry fee is optional, but must be paid at time of entry to be eligible to share in All-Events prize fund.
All bowlers are eligible for the All Events trophy or plaque (Rule 306). Prize money will be returned 100% and in
accordance with USBC Rules.
Any bowler or team arriving late will begin bowling in the frame then being bowled, receiving zero for any frames
missed. Any bowler not in the pit area at the time to bowl will be given a zero for that frame (Rule 322a).
ENTERING AVERAGES:
Bowlers are to use their highest 2009-2010 yearbook certified league average of 21 games or more from any association.
If no 2009-2010 yearbook certified league average, bowlers are to use their highest 2008-2009 certified league average of 21 games or more from any association.
If bowlers do not have either A or B, then the bowler will use their current 2010 Buzzard Club average of 9
games or more.
If bowlers do not have either A, B or C, then the bowler will use a 210 average.
If a bowler competes in a Sport League, he/she must notify Tournament Director for possible re-rating (rule
202a & 202d).
It is each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of their average, whether submitted by the bowler, the team
captain, or others (Rule 319a-3).
Substitutes may be used but must be reported to the tournament office as soon as possible before that event is to be bowled. All rules will apply to substitutes. A substitute shall not participate in All Events money unless they
substitute for the same bowler in all three events and All Events entry fee was paid.
NO ABSENTEE AVERAGES WILL BE USED AND NO PACERS ARE ALLOWED TO BOWL.
HANDICAP:
TEAM EVENT:
90%of the difference between average and 840
DOUBLES EVENT:
90% of the difference between average and 420
SINGLES EVENT:
90% of the difference between average and 210
In the event of mechanical failure, bowlers will be moved to the next available pair of lanes. In case of automatic
scoring loss or mechanical printout failure, the game, or games, in question may be re-bowled.
Any bowler who has qualified for a prize of $600 or more in any event in a tournament within the previous 12
months must report this to the Tournament Director when entry is submitted for possible re-rating (Rule 319d).
Re-rating requirements of Rule 319e-2 shall apply to all participating USBC members of this tournament. The ten pin rule also applies. (Rule 319a-2)
No entries will be accepted after the deadline stated on the application. No re-entries are permitted.
All entries must be verified by and submitted through the local Buzzard Club secretary and certified by the local
chapter. Checks will be accepted from the local chapters only. All other checks and entries will be returned.
THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. All communication concerning the tournament will be between the Chapter Officers and the Tournament Director.
King and Queen Buzzard will receive $25 each and a trophy or a plaque based on the most splits for the first Team
event bowled Doubles, and Singles. First place trophies or plaques will be awarded for Team, Doubles, man and
woman in Singles and man and woman in All Events. All-Events total will be based on first Team event bowled,
Doubles and Singles. In case of a tie for first place in any event, the teams or individuals who tie shall be declared
Co-Champions for the event and prize monies will be combined and divided equally. Duplicate trophies or plaques
will also be awarded ties. The Co-Champions expenses can not come from the prize fund.( Rules 326a-1 and 326b).
If additional squads are needed, they will be added as determined by the Tournament Director and each Chapter and USBC will be notified.
Any rules not covered by these rules revert back to the current adopted rules by USBC.
